Fares are from Jadrolinija's 2026 price list for line 635. The off-season list applies 1 January to 28 May and 28 September to 31 December 2026; the seasonal list applies 29 May to 27 September. The off-season prices, valid today, are shown. The price is the same in both directions, port dues and VAT included. A vehicle ticket does not include the driver or passengers. Children under 3 travel free. The island fare applies all year, only with a Croatian island card. All fares in euros (EUR).
Line 635 is Jadrolinija's car ferry from Split to the island of Hvar, and the first thing to know is where it lands: it docks at the ferry port of Stari Grad, not in Hvar town. From Stari Grad you continue to Hvar town by road. The fast boats that tie up in Hvar town itself are passenger catamarans on other lines and do not take vehicles.
The timetable gives the crossing as 110 minutes (Jadrolinija's route page rounds it to 120), over roughly 42 km. Since 28 September the off-season schedule applies. Until Friday 23 October there are four sailings each way on weekdays and three at weekends; from Saturday 24 October it is three a day, every day, through December, with the morning boats dropped on 25 and 26 December. Summer is much busier: up to seven sailings each way ran in high season, with a 01:30 departure from Split between 20 June and 24 August. Jadrolinija has not yet published the 2027 timetable.
Unlike the Supetar route, this is a reservation line. Your ticket books a vehicle space on one named sailing and is only valid for that date and time, so buy it before you set off, online, in the mJadrolinija app or at a Jadrolinija office. You will need the vehicle registration document; with a rental car whose plate you do not know yet, choose the rental option. Jadrolinija asks drivers to be at the port at least 45 minutes before departure, and 60 minutes in the summer season. Cancelling costs 10% of the fare and is possible until the departure time.
Prices drop after the summer. The off-season fare, in force from 28 September to 31 December 2026, is EUR 5.90 per adult, EUR 3.00 for a child aged 3 to 12, EUR 35.60 for a car up to 5 m and EUR 5.70 for a bike, against EUR 8.40 per adult and EUR 47.60 per car between 29 May and 27 September. The driver and every passenger pay on top of the car fare. Lower island fares require a Croatian island card and are not open to visitors.
- Get to the port in good time: on car ferries vehicle boarding closes before departure, and queues build in summer.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — bora and jugo winds and breakdowns change or cancel sailings.
- Buy your ticket in advance where the operator allows it; vehicle space is limited on some routes.
